It looks like the one on the right is before you generated parts and the one on the left is after.

Re: extract parts
To add to Peter's explanation, once you have created linked parts you can use opt-cmd-period to quickly cycle through the parts.
opt-cmd-comma cycles backwards and opt-cmd-backslash jumps from the current part to the full score.

Re: extract parts
On your piece
Go > Document > Manage Parts > Generate Parts
Now if you do Document > Edit Parts you will see all the linked parts.
The parts may require some tinkering, but they are there.

Re: extract parts
Extract Parts is the old way to do it, which some people still use for various reasons. That creates individual files for each extracted part. The more modern way is Linked Parts which means that if a change is made in the score, it is also made in the part. My recommendation for you would be Linked...

Re: extract parts
It has been a long time since I extracted parts, preferring linked parts. But I believe before extracting you have to Manage Parts under Document; in other words, define the parts to be extracted.

Re: Mass edits for smart shape tool (and ties)
Is Paste Multiple what you are looking for? You would need to use the edit filter to just choose Smart Shapes.

Re: Lyrics too close to barline
Usually with lyrics the barline is only on the staff, not between the staves, so this wouldn't be a problem.
Staff Tool > Staff > Groups and Brackets > Add > Draw Barlines > Only On Staves.

Re: Missing Measure Numbers
Using F27 I opened a template and did an extraction, and the measure numbers are there on the extracted parts. Check Motet's suggestion, or compare your settings to a template.

Fortunately I don't use 27 or Sonoma for most of my work other than testing, so I will be patient.
Thanks, as always, for your help and your leadership here.

Problem with shortcuts in System Settings (Mac)
I was going to set some shortcuts for Finale using System Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts > App Shortcuts but I can't get it to work. It has worked fine for me in previous OS versions but with 14.2.1 when I get to the setup page it allows me to put in the Main Title, but not the menu comman...

Not what you're looking for, but two dotted 8ths does the same thing as a duplet.

Use the Page Layout tool and Insert Blank Pages. You can change the page numbering with the Text Tool > Edit Page Offset.

Re: notation help - notes alternating hands
I would start the upper part with an invisible 32nd rest and that will push all the 16ths to the right, between the lower voice 16ths. Then use Special Tools > Secondary Beam Adjustment to do the feathering.

The way I would do this is hold down the shortcut key -- for instance S for staccato -- and click-drag a box around the notes.

How are you making the tie? In Speedy, it depends on where the cursor is. If it is on a note, it ties that note. If it is between notes it ties them all.

To me that looks like a barline setting of Only Between Staves with a hidden system or something like that. Is there another system in Scroll View?

Not necessary since you got it working, but in Speedy I dragged the G down to F and then ++ for the double sharp.
