I'm not sure I recall correctly, but I think it is something like this in Finale 2004:

Page Layout Tool.

Go to

Options menu > Page Format > Score...

and set the page format for score as you want it.

Next, go to

Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages

and redefine the last four pages of your score.

Two questions:

1) Are you using a MIDI keyboard for note entry?

2) In the Speedy menu, is the menu item "Use MIDI Device for Input" selected?

Since this issue is a bit more complicated, I would separate layout and playback:

Enter the playback notes in a hidden layer.

For the layout, use slurs.

I don't think that Finale can export GPO playback as MP3.

But you can export SmartMusic SoftSynth playback as MP3.

You can export GPO playback as WAV.
You can convert the WAV file to MP3 with third party software.

With the full Finale you can get a tie to a 2nd ending, both layout and playback.
But I don't think that it's possible with PrintMusic.

If I understand you correctly, you want equal measure widths in all the measures.

To do so, go to
Document Options - Music Spacing
and set the same value for "Minimum Measure Width" and Maximum Measure Width".
Then apply Music Spacing, and Update Layout.
