Re: Saving time signatures?
On Windows I have something called ClipMate, which treats the system clipboard like a stack, so it remembers every clip and lets you go back and paste an old one. Copying notes in Finale doesn't go there, though. Yes, Keyboard Maestro on MacOS has the same function, but with the same result as your...

Re: Saving time signatures?
Nick, as a more general question, could there be a way to use JWLua to generate multiple clipboards? Instead of having just the system clipboard, cmd/ctrl c &v? AFAIK there are only two clipboard-related functions in JWLua , both deal with copying text to the system's clipboard. There's no way a JW...

Re: Saving time signatures?
Indeed that would be a powerful feature. Meanwhile there is a similar Finale feature (but, alas, without drag-and-drop): File menu > Copy to Clip File… (you must hold down the correct modifier key = the Alt key, I think) You can name your Clip Files as you like, and you can use them anytime, anywhe...

This could be helpful in your instance, but in countless others.

Check out this installation guide from the music type foundry.
Under the section: "Changing the Music Font in Finale", you might find what you need.

Re: Tie from 'Nowhere'
If you're starting your movement in a new Finale file, will the movement start on a new page in the parts? Huh, that's a good point that I haven't thought about. No, of course, there shouldn't be a page break, which will happen with different files… Thanks for the hint, Motet, I'll look into that.

Rhythmic Notation - Hollow Half note
Hi Forum,
I'm sure, I'm not the first one to ask the question,
The standard half note in the Rhythmic Notation Staff-Style looks like the quarter note. Is there a way to make it hollow?
Thanks,

Perfect, thank you Nick.Nick Mazuk wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 4:30 amThough there may be a way to create the tie using the tie tool, I've found it's easiest to use articulations for moments like these. Here's a video I made that details the process for 2nd ending repeats (it's the same process for you, though): https://youtu.be/tZ42nqAEmB4

I thought I wasn't the first one. Thanks, Motet.motet wrote: ↑Fri Apr 03, 2020 4:22 amThis thread details the best I could come up with for articulations. It will place the top correctly; you then need to adjust the bottom.

Articulation - Change Default Placement
Hi Forum,
Is there a way to change the default placement for Articulations?
The standard placement for Arpeggi is a little cumbersome.

Quickly see Tempo
Hi Forum,
Especially for longer works, instead of searching the last tempo indication, is there a way to quickly find out at what tempo the current measure/section is set?
Thanks,

That's actually a pretty practicable workaround as well, thank you, Peter.Peter Thomsen wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 3:43 pmAs Far As I Can Tell, the width of added measures (added to the end of the document) is equal to the width of the last measure before the added measures.

Very good, thank you for your advice.N Grossingink wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:15 amTurn Automatic Music Spacing on (Preferences > Edit).
My rule of thumb is to keep AMS on when entering music, then turn it off when doing layout and adjustments. If needed, you can still apply spacing manually (select measure(s) and hit 4).

Measure Attributes - Measure Width, default?
Hi Forum,
When adding measures, they seem to have a default width of about 250 EVPUs. When working with the Speedy Entry Tool, the width quickly crams up the notes, preventing good visibility.
Is there a way to change the default width "barline-to-barline" when adding measures?
Thanks,

Page Size - Dead End
Hi Forum, I'm trying to get my template to have Tabloid size throughout (only score, not parts). The first page is always tabloid, but the subsequent pages always letter-sized. Now, I can go and change it in the Page Layout tool, but, for some reason it doesn't stay put. If I delete all the pages (t...
