Yes. Click the staff tool, then, in the Staff menu, New Staves... will take you to the Wizard, where you can add the new instrument. By default, the new instrument will be added at the bottom. If you want it above an existing staff, click the staff tool, click in the box at the upper left of the sta...

Finale knows the chords. However, they may not be the formation (inversion?) that you need for the sound that you want. You might want to work with a guitarist. If you have the full Finale, you have a lot of control over the fretboard diagrams. See this Knowledge Base article: http://makemusic.custh...

It sounds like you need to read up on layers in the help files, and watch the videos. Using layers will let you enter notes (or rests) of different durations on the same beat. This is one of Finale's basic and powerful features, so an understanding of this is essential.

In the Page Layout menu, you can use Space Systems Evenly. For more exact control, Page Layout menu>Edit System Margins... lets you specify numerical settings.

Do you have that third trumpet on a different channel? Is it assigned to the same MIDI output playback as the others?

adding measures

In the Simple menu, check Create New Measures. Measures will be added automatically, as they are needed. Or, you can add them by using the selection tool, right-clicking in a measure, and choosing Add Measures...

You could also look up Measures in the Help Index.

No, you can't add a measure to a single staff. But it's not so bad to move the others. Click in the first measure you want to move. Shift+End to extend the selection to the end of the piece. Grab the first measure, and drag it to the left. Done.

With PrintMusic, you're limited to what they give you. Someone with Finale could customize a template for you, and you could use that.

You can change the chord, text and lyric fonts (with some restrictions) from the Document menu>Select Default fonts...

However, to change the music font or entire document style, create a new doc, and copy your music into it.

Bad documentation. Print Music cannot reduce note size; only page, staff, or system.
