Re: Two big issues from Score to Parts
OK, for example If repeat signs are used from Letter A through Letter C, let's say, Letter B and C should have the actual measure being repeated in the first bar of that section, then going back to the Repeat sign from the 2nd measure. Having to play multiple repeats without seeing the original meas...

Re: Two big issues from Score to Parts
I think at each new Rehearsal Letter, the First Bar should show the actual Measure being repeated. Especially when the Letters appear at the beginning of a Stave. I'm sure I read that Here, esp about Chord Symbols, don't start a new staff with a repeat sign. If Repeats Only goes on very long, one co...

Re: Any way to play back gliss. from a tied note?
I think the Bend shouldn't be from a tied note.
Take out the tie, put it all under a slur, see what happens.
As far as the Gliss, why isn't it just a Quarter Note instead of a triplet tied together?

Re: Sound suddenly disappeared from a file
Reload Instruments in the Score Manager. Be sure to Pan them for Stereo. I sent a File to the San Francisco Symphony, after tweaking it. Both the File I sent and the original Finale File were silent, no Inst loaded, even tho minutes before they were there. I fixed it wit the Score manager, and re-se...

Re: Piece for 4 bassoons, score manager sounds?
It takes a few seconds to load 4 Solo Inst in Garritan, and for me, the tone quality is better. A Woodwind Quintet uses all Solo Inst in Garritan. Try it, and Panning is essential for realistic sound. I use the Matrix Reverb, with the Wet /Dry Slider all the way to Dry, and Small Room. That give a n...

Re: Note Not Played with Human Playback
Do you Pan the Instruments? I always do. Might help. Dynamics might help too. Maybe there's too much reverb. I like the Dry Setting. HP plays super legato. Maybe a marcatto setting would create the slight space between notes that real Players might do . The attack you aren't hearing may just be merg...

Re: Piece for 4 bassoons, score manager sounds?
I write for Clarinet Quartet, I always use the Solo Clarinet for Bb Clar. The Solo Inst are a bit louder, so mixing Section and Solo Inst isn't a good idea. (IMO!) I would use all Bassoon Solo. Also, be sure to pan them, so they are spread out. I use 9 and 3 O'clock for the outer Inst, the other 2 o...

Re: Complete failure of playback after High Sierra (solved)
Hi, I'm glad!
Use different Dacs sometimes, and I've noticed the Device Setting change every once in a while,
revert to Built in Speakers, or changer the Buffer or Sample rate.
So it's the first place I look now if I'm suddenly getting the Sound of Silence...

Re: Complete failure of playback after High Sierra
Bummer!
Under Device Set Up, see what Output Source is Selected, set Sample rate to 96 and be sure the Buffer is 4096.
Lower settings cause stuttering!

Re: Doubling the value of each note in a piece
I haven't been able to get this to work. When doing it a bar at a time, with rebar and tuplets checked, it changes the notation later in the piece.
When I select all, it comes out in a bizarre fashion, almost like if Check for Extra Notes wasn't checked and notes and rests get displaced.

Re: Doubling the value of each note in a piece
Me too. I added extra measures, but still 2 measures of entries are all in one measure all through the file.
It would be great to learn how to do this, it would save me personally LOTS of time on one particular piece!

I always use the Score Manager to add Inst or assign them.
Not the Aria Player itself.

Put another Tempo Mark, Quarter = 160 at the DS.
Take it out for Printing, or maybe there's a way to hide it.

Re: augmented unison
Good jokes I've got one: What's the definition of a Triad? It's a Chord with the 6th left out. BTW, in the Gershwin example, that's either a D7+9 or Ab13. ( No Bass Note showing ). So it's really either E#/F#, or F/Gb. I know the spelling in the example is common, but to me it's not an Augmented Uni...

Re: augmented unison
Well, actually I Don't!
But I'm just a Clarinet/Sax Player, so I never encounter that sort of thing.
My Composing and Arranging don't include writing for or Engraving
Piano Music.
I just needed to get the "Diad" Thing off my chest...
I'll be quiet now.

Re: augmented unison
Augmented Unison?
Didn't that used to be a Minor 2nd?
Why not E/D#? Or Eb/Fb?
Seems similar to a Diad.
A 2 note chord.
Didn't that used to be an Interval?
A complicated way to say something simple.

Re: Make Playback Less Electronic Sounding
Hi, You were probably listening to the Synth, not Garritan Inst.
I loaded Garritan via Score Manager, did some panning in the Mixer, added a bit of reverb and put in a few Articulations in the first few bars.
It will sound mushy with out some Stacatto dots.

Thanks Zuill-
I can use Audiogate for that.
Also I have players that will convert on the fly for file playback.
Still, real 24/92 within Finale would be great.

Finale Aiff and Wav Exports 16/96
Is there any way to get 24/96 on the Exports, or for general Playback of Finale?
The Computer ( iMac) is set for 24/96 and the dac I use will do it.
I have the Most Recent Fin 25 on Mac.
And Sierra.

Re: Low G doesn't sound in some GPO5 trumpet sounds
Yes, I see what you mean. I was mainly thinking of Big-Band writing. I wouldn't write a low g for Bb Tpt as part of a voicing. When Thad Jones got down there, he would just double the next higher part instead of having that low a Tpt Voicing. Or double the Tpts in two parts briefly. Anyway, you know...

Re: Low G doesn't sound in some GPO5 trumpet sounds
Why write so low for tpt?
Have you heard a tpt player play down there?
That's Trombone and Horn territory.
Tpts will likely sound weak and wobbly down there.
