No, you can't change the percussion map in PM. Sorry.

You would be able to load a Finale doc with a different map, but I'm not sure if/how that would work.

You can still create a default document. Save it as an FTM. If you name it Maestro Font Default, and put it in the component styles folder, it will launch from Default Document. If you use the wizard, you have to alter the docs in the Document Styles folder. Or, give it a name like My Template, and ...

In the Text menu, you will find commands and shortcuts for this.

I think you need to spend some time with the tutorials. Layers are one of the most basic, and most powerful, features of the program. The help files, videos, and turorials explain it much better than I can.

It's called a tremolo, and you'll find it in the articulations.

Use the 2008 template. You will absolutely not mess up the program. Many people use templates that they bring forward for years.

I would submit that to MM as a bug. They won't do anything for this version, but maybe next year...

Finale is pretty complicated to figure out as you go. Why not take the time to do the tutorials and watch the videos? It will save you a LOT of frustration.

PrintMusic and above: Page Layout>Space Systems Evenly... You may have to adjust the system height (space between staves) to avoid overlapping, if you try to put too many systams on a page.

NotePad and Songwriter: Not possible
