Re: Vector graphics blurry
Alas, not in this case unfortunately. I'll attach an image. The sharp one is the TIFF which can't be resized. The others are the vectors. The vectors work flawlessly *in* Illustrator.

Vector graphics blurry
I've had some success w/ importing graphics in Finale and I've used the .eps file format. For some reason I'm not having any luck w/ particular images today. They're originally (small) PDFs and I've converted them to PNGs, imported into Illustrator and created the vector files there. They look great...

Re: Layering graphics
I should add, whenever I redraw the screen it brings the background graphic to the front.

Layering graphics
Hello,
Is there a way to prioritize which graphic goes on top when layering graphics? I've got one that has to be on top of the other...and of course once I have it all set up and return to other tasks....it reverses itself. Can you specify which one is foreground/background?

Re: Stopwatch Pieces
… What I'm really after, is the best way to add these dashes across an entire score, and advice for doing a stopwatch piece in Finale w/o bars/time signatures. 1) Finale har a barline style called Tick (= a small dash across the highest staff-line). Would a Tick barline work for you? Or must the da...

Re: Stopwatch Pieces
I have been working w/o bars so I don't want to tie each system to time signatures, tempo etc. I suppose if I made the tempo 60 this would be fine. but some systems are going to be different lengths and I want to control the time that is displayed etc. There's graphic notation involved and I don't w...

Re: Stopwatch Pieces
Hi Peter, No I'm not looking for that, I would like something more flexible, I can add the times w/ the text tool as need be. What I'm looking for is how to add dashes/lines not unlike an actual ruler. Something like this but below the staff. eg. a short line every 5 seconds that comes out of the bo...

Stopwatch Pieces
For those who have done stopwatch pieces and have turned a staff into a bit of a time ruler, how do you make the little notches (below the staff line) which would indicate regular time values (e.g.. 0:10, 0:20, 0:30 etc)?

Staff Changes
How do you change staves mid-stream? For example, say I want a 1 line staff to start and then switch to a 5 line staff and vice versa throughout the score.

Saving articulations
I've noticed when you modify an articulation it doesn't save when opening another document. How might one do this so the process doesn't need to be repeated every time?

Re: Extended technique graphics (wind instruments)
Thanks for the reply. Have you had success w/ Bravura? I was reading some criticisms about bugs and working properly on PC but not entirely on Mac (apparently there's a bug where certain high number slots don't work). There's also Aruvarb and Fravura (apparently a Finale specific version of Bravura).

Re: Can Bravura be used as it is?
Thank you. It seems that Aruvarb is the font I will need, since I need all other symbols in one font file. Fravura looks interesting, but as I mentioned, I need so many different symbols.... well, The Contemporary Music.... How did this work out for you in the end? Good results for contempo...

Extended technique graphics (wind instruments)
Hi there, On flute or clarinet: a technique going from an air sound to a pure tone (or half air-half tone) and vice versa is often notated w/ an empty circle for air, filled in circle for tone and half empty-half filled in for the half air/tone sound. To go in-between you often see an arrow. Are the...

Re: Can anyone explain this? Phantom Apple logo
Peter, your solution didn't work but thank you for that. I was not aware printing a PDF wasn't true black & white. I'll export from now on. Michel, I sense your suggestion will be the answer. The blank notehead I selected for that one must have been different than others (who knew) and actually a se...

Can anyone explain this? Phantom Apple logo
For some reason, when I print to PDF there is an Apple logo imposed where it wasn't in the Finale file. It's basically where I'm hiding a note head. I do this elsewhere but there's no logo inserted. No idea why this is happening here. Any ideas how to fix this? (attached is the Finale and PDF versio...

Re: how to change note durations
(I know this is old but perhaps will be helpful) Not sure what version you're running (or when they incorporated this) but in v2014.5 you can do exactly what you want w/o plugins. Utilities > Change > Note durations With your measures of 32nd notes selected either choose 50% or click on 16ths and ap...

Ah cheers, I overlooked that Canonic utility. Perfect.
re: the manual thing, yes I normally do these things manually/by ear. It's just for reversing or inverting a line it's been a major time saver when using DAW MIDI editors in the past.

Plugins for Creativity/Transformation
Hello, I just read about Sibelius plugins that are compositional tools (similar to most DAWs in their MIDI editors) that allow for inverting a passage, retrograde, randomize etc. I've found the Patterson plugins but those seem more focused on moving components around. The JW plugins don't seem to be...
