It's probably because you're changing time signatures. If you double the note values in a 4/4 bar, it's pushing things into a 7/16 bar down the road. Seems like instead you want the 4/4 bar to turn into a 4/2 bar, 3/4 to 3/2, 7/16 to 7/8, etc.

Try selecting all, then Edit/Clear Selected Items. In the ensuing dialog, click None, then MIDI data.

I would try different HP settings--Standard, Classical, Romantic, etc.

Tempo changes, as in inserting tempo marks/expressions, or meter changes? Do they form a pattern?

In your example I would make the first two measures into an 8/4 measure displayed as 4/4; the JW Meter and Rhythm plug-in will help with this. Perhaps that will work on the cadenza measures that you've split to remerge them.

I don't understand your question, but to see what's in what layer, you need to turn on score colors in Preferences. Then layer 1 will be black and layer 2 red. Everything will print black.

There is an Edit palette you can enable on the Window menu that has an Undo button. You can drag the palette where you want it. Most people just type Ctrl+Z, though, so I don't find the palette useful. You can also access Undo and Redo from the Edit menu.

A "virtual stick key"? Sometimes Finale thinks a key is pressed when it isn't, especially Shift, Alt, or Ctrl.

Any self-respecting trumpeter will be able to play down to F# easily, but it's true that register lacks power and won't necessarily sound good in ensemble writing.

Either change Finale from using ASIO or get an ASIO driver like FlexASIO.
