It often helps to quit and restart Finale, especially if it has been running for some time. I'd try this first; it's certainly quicker than reinstalling!

Interestingly, I can't copy these, though. The half notes plus articulations get copied but they are changed to regular-length half notes, losing the tuplet definition and, therefore, the dots. Not a big problem, but strange, nevertheless.

I've forgotten how to do this. I'm notating a piece in 4/4 and one voice has repeated 8th note triplets which I'd like to notate as dotted half notes with a line articulation through the stem. Very strangely I haven't been able to make this stick. The only way I can get files to open in Finale 25.2 is to open the program first and keep it running. If I do this, double-clicking files from the Finder will then open them in 25.2.

It turned out to be a 'corrupted' preferences file, whatever that means. Since removing it and redoing my preferences, the Repitch Tool works normally. I'd be curious to know how the preferences file can disturb a single function, and what might have caused it. Oh well, Finale moves in curious ways...

It's with a MIDI keyboard. I'm away from home right now and bought a new MIDI controller (Acorn masterkey 49) and thought it might have to do with that, but it works fine for entering notes and Repitch works with this setup in 2014.5 so it must be something else. And yes, I've tried restarting.

Might be a problem with 10.12.2. This update broke a number of things.

It still works in 2014.5 so it looks like a problem with 25.2 on the Mac. Grrr! My first report to MM this year.

Have your problems with crashing been solved? If not, have you tried trashing the preferences? If that doesn't help, you can try Finale in a new user account to see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, there's something installed in your [administrator] account which is causing a conflict.
