I set hymns all the time, and handle the final measure the way you describe. It only takes a few seconds so I don't consider it an inconvenience. Also, most of the hymns I set don't have time signatures so that saves one step.

As of today most of the plug-ins are included in 27.3 so no installation is needed.

On the Mac there are three flavors of XML export, Compressed, XML, and MusicXML. Have you tried all three?

Click the pencil beside Aria Player > click slot #1 > Click Finale Default Bank > click 011 Jazz > choose the guitar sound you want, acoustic or electric.

No instrument is selected in Audio Units. You'll see that if you play through MIDI it is fine, but if you open Audio Units (opt-cmd-U) and click the pencil beside Aria Player nothing is selected. I selected Acoustic Guitar and it plays properly.

Make sure that in the playback window the base key velocity didn't somehow get set to zero.

If you are trying to get rid of that measure number under the MM rest, go Measure Tool > Edit Measure Number Region > un-click Show on Multimeasure Rests > or fix the range to show range instead of one number.

Please be more specific about the question. The MM rests look okay to me, though I am on a Mac.

Are you talking about the measure number beneath the MM rest?

If you can open the file, then before trying to edit it do what Johnmouse suggested and save it using a different name. I don't know if this works for Windows, but on a Mac another trick is to export the file as XML and then import it into a new document.

John's solution hides them measure by measure. You can hide them all the way through using Staff Tool > Staff Attributes and uncheck Time Signatures.

You are right that "second time only" can be a little unpredictable. Can you post the file, or a portion of the file for some examination and experimentation?

The first thing to check is in the Score Manager to see if you set a transposition.

Is it possible that the whole rest is in layer 3 or 4? Go to those layers and see if you can delete them. If that doesn't work, post a Finale file so the experts can dig in.

If there is no key signature then it is already natural, but I'm guessing you want to to show as natural. If so, in Speedy select the note and type * or type P to get a natural with parentheses.

As Peter wrote, it's hard to guess without seeing the file, but one place you could check is the Score Manager to see if T2 is marked for a transposition.

Long ago there was a function called something like Mirror that did something like that, but it has been discontinued. You might find Plug-Ins > Scoring and Arranging > Canonic Utilities useful, though it is not automatic.

This is a font issue. We would need to know what version of Finale your teacher has and what you have.

Andrew, In the area where the piano is hidden, is there a reason to have the piano part there? Maybe for playback purposes? If not, then if you delete the piano part in those measures the MM rest will work. I assume this score is separate from the full score so deleting the piano would be possible. ...
