Re: Aria Player is a blur

I'm sorry, I'm not following... the only mention of "Continuous Data" that I can find is over in Window -> Special Tools Palette -> MIDI Tool -> Edit Continuous Data -> View Continuous data And I don't see anything about Start/Stop time there... but I do see something nearby called Window -> Special...

Aria Player is a blur

I have Finale 2014, including Aria Player with "Garritan Instruments for Finale". I'm trying to get the Aria Player to do something useful. But I'm having problems. Specifically, to start with, the simple violin playback is just a blur on my machine. Here's the sequence: 1) DEFAULT DOCUMENT: I close...

Re: Audio Engine failed to load Error code 7)

PS - Saying things more simply: it might work to exit Finale and just move your "Users...Roaming...Finale" user setup folder somewhere where Finale will no longer see it. Then run Finale again and see if it has turned all fresh and new, with an Audio Engine that works again. If nothing's fixed, exit...

Re: Audio Engine failed to load Error code 7)

I got that error recently. I ended up having to wipe all traces of Finale from the Windows system registry, and from C:/Users/{username}/AppData/Roaming/MakeMusic/Finale 2014, and restore both from backup. Not for the faint of heart. Took a long time to figure out. Hope you don't have to do it. (One...

Re: Problem with ScoreMerger

Don't know if this is directly relevant, but: I have a songbook. I use a single large Finale file to hold all the tunes, and I produce a PDF from it. I then use separate Microsoft Word documents to generate PDFs containing a cover page, a table of contents, various page numbers and page headers, and...

Re: Default playback speed ignored in simple sample

Oops. I think I vaporized my reply here, via the "Save As Draft" button. Let's see if I can reconstruct what I said... Mr. Thomsen... playback changes when the file is simply closed and opened? Zuill... playback changes when HP is simply switched over and back again? Well, we've got two different wo...

Default playback speed ignored in simple sample

I have been through the archives without finding help. What I've got is a simple playback tempo on a simple sample that's being simply ignored... I've boiled a problem in a much longer work down into a test file; please see attached. Open the file. Set the Playback Controls tempo to "quarter note = ...

Re: Inserting a measure trashes downstream page breaks

Hi. Sorry for the pause. However, I've got progress! Measures and staff systems definitely can be created in the middle of a paginated document -- if (and only if?) you use the right incantation. See below. But first - zuill -- Thanks for all your thoughts. Thanks for trying it on all the different ...

Inserting a measure trashes downstream page breaks

Hi. I've got a problem with inserting measures without losing downstream formatting. I'm using Finale for transcribing fiddle tunes, and then adding harmonies to the tunes. (A "fiddle tune" is, typically, a 32-bar single-voice dance melody as used for traditional folk dancing and jamming.) To do thi...
