Re: Music Tests
Make two short systems in the Page Layout tool. Suppress the cautionary clef and time signature at the end of the first with the measure attributes. Back in the Page Layout tool, uncheck "avoid margin collisions" and drag them side by side.

Re: Note spacing question
Somehow you're triggering respacing. I suggest doing the fine tweaking late in the game, after all other edits are done. Then turn off automatic music spacing and do your beat spacing.

Re: What to do when Hyperscribe has fallen behind
I suspect Hyperscribe is hiccuping at the meter changes when your beat is a quarter, which is why I suggested eighths. Normally, this shouldn't be necessary.

If I'm understanding correctly, that sounds like it would be confusing. I'm with Mike--write it out.

Re: What to do when Hyperscribe has fallen behind
In the Hyperscribe / Beat Source / Play and/or Click dialog, what is Beat Equals: set to? If longer than an eighth note, try setting it to an eighth note, upping the tempo if necessary.

Make a staff style that turns off clefs and apply it to all but the first measure. You can turn off key signatures and time signatures at the same time.

Re: Trouble opening templates from 2012
Did you copy your templates into the new version's directory? Since it's a File Manager error, sounds like it's something like that rather than a Finale problem. Make sure Preferences/Folders/Templates is correct.

Re: Music disappears when moving systems
The staff tool can be used to adjust the space between systems (dragging the top staff of a system) but I agree the Page Layout tool is the better way to go. I don't know why music is disappearing, though. If you have hard page breaks it may have moved on to a future page. If you have Automatic Upda...

Re: Different Page Number Placement on Linked Parts
If they're unlinked, you can drag them manually in one part without affecting the others, if that helps. Changing the frame attributues affects all, as you have discovered.

Re: Allegro 2000 / 2005
It might run on Windows. I still have Finale 2005 on Windows 10.
The serial number might be the same for Allegro 2000 and Allegro 2005, if the latter was n upgrade. I've always had the same serial number for Finale.

Re: Ossias: no slurs or hairpins
From the Staff tool. select the staff in the systems where you want it hidden and pick Hide Empty Staves from the menu.
In the system with the ossia measure, you'll have to hide the empty measures on either side of it with the staff style "Force Hide Staff (Cutaway)".

Re: copying tied notes with accidentals
I'm talking about Utilities/Check notation/Check ties, which you already discovered. Perhaps it's wrong to call it a plug-in. In my experience, JW Validate will give a large number of false positives, so if you use it, it's best done once at the end when you have time to slog through it.

Re: copying tied notes with accidentals
It only seems to happen when you copy in vertically into the same (numbered) measure No, it happens no matter where you copy it to, also if you, for instance, only copy a part of the note value, like a quarter) Another quick approach Yes, there are a few ways of fixing it afterwards. The real probl...

Re: copying tied notes with accidentals
You seem to have discovered a bug--Finale leaves the "tie end" attribute set on the target note, which hides the accidental. It only seems to happen when you copy in vertically into the same (numbered) measure. A JW plug-in is not going to help you prevent it from happening; there's nothing there fo...

Re: Finale does not release audio stream - exclusive mode (?
Well, now F2014.5 won't play at all. The playback cursor hangs in the first bar. Scrubbing doesn't work. 2011 works fine. The people in MM technical support throw up their hands.
I'm getting near the end of my rope with Finale. Finally have a 64-bit machine, so am able to run Dorico now.

Re: Centering of marcato symbol
You mean changing the percentage actually creates manual adjustments where there were none?
I haven't done that. I applied them all with a metatool. I did run various plug-ins, so maybe one of them did it. Or else just another Finale quirk.
