As long as you don't actually start the drag on the shape itself, you should be fine. Start the drag from the top, or outside the shapes.

Simple Entry uses the Alt-G shortcut** to turn the currently selected note into a grace note, and Command G ** to toggle the Grace note tool.

I'm sure I remember (at least) one of the old a, b, c updates introducing bugs as well as fixing them.

I'd try trashing the pref file first. That's where the palette position etc is stored. Worth a pop before doing a whole reinstall.

If you're not experiencing similar slow-downs in other applications, then I would suggest the hardware is not at fault. Yes, it does require a particular set of circumstances, but if you have them, it's very serious. I'd rather exaggerate it's significance to bring it to people's attention than downplay it. It's all very well saying "don't use those chars", but if you already have files with them, then that's not easy.

If anyone hasn't seen it, there is a fatal bug in 25.4 -- though only within very specific criteria.

don't think I have a backup on this: I went in to the backup folder for Finale in my C drive, but I also can't open the document from there. Just remove them from the plug-ins folder (or sub-folders thereof) and restart Finale. To reinstall, put them back!

Finale's abilities for colouring are limited to specific uses.
