grace notes slash
Hi all,
I can use a plugin called "Slash flagged grace notes" to add the desired slash.
Question: Is there a plugin (for MacFin25) that will put slashes on my beamed grace notes?
Thanks and cheers,
Hector.

Re: tremolo stem length
Thanks, Peter. Regarding the tremolo on the right in my picture (the one with the 3 disconnected beams), using the Beam Angle Tool, I can successfully move the left handle of the group upwards and downwards and it shortens and lengthens the stems accordingly, however as the note stems change in leng...

tremolo stem length
I made a tremolo using TG Tools "Easy Tremolos"
How does one lengthen the stems a bit? I tried using the stem length tool, but it doesn't let me.
Yours curiously,
Hector.

Articulations and the new Finale version
Hi all, I have just finished entering a new piece into Finale 25. I am just about to go through the whole score and manually attend to all the collisions between slurs and accents, tenuti, staccati, etc. I am wondering if it might be wise for me to buy the Fin 26 upgrade at this point and finish the...

Re: Ossia tool
Ok, so I've followed the instructions above and it's looking good, however I am not able to work out how to make the dashed bar lines between the ossia staff and the main staff (while keeping solid bar lines on both staves).
Any thoughts would be welcome!

Re: Ossia tool
Actually, I just found these instructions on how to do it without the ossia tool: To create a multimeasure ossia To create an ossia passage that consists of multiple measures, use the Staff tool to hide unused measures and the Resize tool to adjust the size of the ossia passage. Choose Window > Scor...

Ossia tool
Hi,
I would like to float a 4-bar alternative passage above a staff. But, as far as I know the ossia tool is only good for one bar.
Should I add a staff and reduce it and then hide it everywhere except the one system where it's needed? Would that be the best approach?
Cheers,
HP.

Re: M.M.
Thanks for all the collective wisdom :) I must admit that I am still not 100% convinced that I should chuck out the "M.M." M.M., to me, is concise and does signify a lot of meaning. It tells us that we are talking about a metronome and puts the symbols and numbers in a context. Couldn't it be argued...

M.M.
Greetings again,
I was just wondering whether to put M.M. in front of my metronome marking. I just looked up Gould, but it appears to me that she is silent on the matter.
What do you think? Is it considered old fashioned and obsolete, or is it professional and proper to include it.
Cheers,
Hector.

Cresc. hairpin horizontality
Hi All,
I must have finger poked something, because now when I enter a smart shape hairpin cresc. or decresc., it is not horizontal by default. How can I switch Finale back to make horizontal hairpin placements by default?
Thanks and cheers,
Hector Pascal.

A single hairpin can be both decres. or cresc.
Hi all, I just accidentally discovered something that I had not realised before: Say I want to place a cresc. hairpin, but I notice the active tool is a decres., it matters not one iota, because one can go ahead and form the decresc. and just drag the RH side back over itself and it magically become...

O/T: Enharmonic question
Hi all,
Key of C Major, Chord V:
Melody: G G# A A# B Bb A Ab G (i.e.: sharps on the way up, flats on the way down)
Does the use of the accidentals look right to you?
Cheers,
Hector.

Colour text
Hi all, I typed up a title page in Finale for the first page of my score, using the text tool. Is it possible to choose a colour for the text so that it will print out in colour? Failing that, does anyone know if there is such a thing as A3 size, circa 300gsm gloss paper in a few different colours? ...

Hollow headed arrow
Hi, I'd like to use an arrow with a hollow head. -----|> I have found the custom line tool and can get a smart shape arrow with a filled head. I don't seem to be able to find a hollow head for the arrow. Have you seen any around? If not, I guess I will need to design one in the design window. Cheers...

Best way to resize busy gliss. notes
Hi all,
I have some busy harp glissandi (measured, fully notated). What's the best way to reduce the size of the glissandi notes so that they fit more comfortably in the bar? I have been using the % tool and reducing each note individually. Is there a better way?
Cheers,
Hector Pascal.
