Top staff and ignore other staffs. I use left justification with a H -.05 and a V -.456 offset. It keep measure numbers out of the way of most everything. On Start of staff I use H -.05 and V -.5
This is how it looks.

Re: MakeMusic at the NAMM trade show
Do neither of you not think it is important or at least good to know that Finale can run well? And, I fully believe the major reason some folks have issues is, ... it’s likely their own fault and/or a consequence of their lack of knowledge And that, my friends, is why we are here. There is no high e...

Re: MakeMusic at the NAMM trade show
Honestly if I had as many complaints and gripes as you do I would certainly be one of the "dwindling" Finale user base. I am still amazed how may forum users, and you seem to be the first every time, get upset when someone actually has few to no issue with how Finale works for them. Yes, it does dep...

Re: MakeMusic at the NAMM trade show
I also listened to the NAMM You Tube. I am and have always had the thought that the basic engine that drives Finale can not be messed with for fear of screwing up other things. Unwanted and unexpected consequences. At least to the point of a major remake and even perhaps a completely new core. And t...

Re: Lost in space
It all has to do with the basic knowledge of Finale. We, here, on the forum must assume the person isn't versed in Finale. When I teach the 5th graders to play an F on their brand new trombone, I can't simply say it's in 1st position. Explore your horn. The bottom line is whether you are a teacher a...

You might look at RPG Copy Page Layout plugin.

It is a well worth it upgrade and has a First and Second endings tool that does this automatically. You can never discount motet from making a mountain out of a hill. Let me clarify it for you. "It is a well worth it upgrade." " Plus it has a First and Second endings tool that does this automatical...

Then there's the "normal amount of trepidation" I have in adding a new piece of software -- Not to beat a dead horse but you can d/l the 27.4 demo and test it out. Its free and can be uninstalled if you find it isn't all that you hopped. It can be installed along side of your current version which ...

Re: 1st and 2nd repeat signs in Finale 2003 (no snickers, please)
And, you are checking your 2003 manual? My manual mentions "Plug-ins", but I have no knowledge of plug-ins.
I have a question, is there a reason you don't upgrade to 27.4? It is a well worth it upgrade and has a First and Second endings tool that does this automatically.

Re: Drone
Is it for just playback or does it need to be for the musicians? Anything that works and can be hidden if it makes a sound. But if you need a score for the musicians it is almost like a percussion part. Make the first measure with the wanted sound then use 1-bar repeats the rest of the score. I've n...

Re: Oboe doesn't playback the written notes
My instructions will reassign the sounds and correct the staff label. There is no right or wrong. In Finale there is always two or more ways to accomplish the same outcome. Its not a competition. Jose, Have you considered upgrading your Finale version to 27.4.1? You will get the latest Aria player ...

IMHO, using different chords is not a repeat and I would write it out completely. No 1st and 2nd endings. Always keep it simple for the musicians to understand

Re: PDFs in 27.4
So, it wasn't intentional! It was unintended! The more shocking thing here is, MM didn't try it before they released 27.4 had they tested it, it would have never got released. Knowing Finale's past release history don't you think MM would be wise to test all the functions before they release an upd...

Re: Split-measure plug-in when pickup measure is present
MakeMusic should test every plug-in (and indeed every tool and function) ... Oh right! They obliviously don't do that. Not only that, MM can not see all the various combinations of apps, software and hardware, whatever, combinations that a robust beta tester program could see like the previous grou...
