That did the trick!
I forgot that Windows governs the sampling rate of Finale's output. I was using an audio clip at 48kHz while Windows was set to 48kHz. Thank you sooooo much!

Can the sample rate of exported audio be changed?
I am unable to synchronize an imported audio clip with the notation in a score, due to audio drift. The clip is the same tempo (BPM) as the score. I'm guessing a disparity in the sample rate of the two is the cause of the asynchrony. A search for sample rate in the manual found no help. Does Finale ...

Re: Exported Audio Files are out of sync
I notice that the latency in the leader rangers from 5ms to 50ms when exporting the individual instruments on different occasions. However, exporting them in one session has them all start at the same time in my DAW, wherein I add 1.5 secs of silence to the leaders. For me, the duration of ralls, ri...

Re: Beam angle tool problem
If the issue does not appear in a new document, the cause may be file corruption. When I run into a problem caused by file corruption, I start a new document with the same parameters (time and key signatures etc.) then enter the notation. Then, with both documents open and tiled horizontally, I clea...

Can we embed a graphic image in a document?
Is there a way to embed a graphic in a Finale document; so that if the file is moved, the graphic won't be lost? Currently, I must move the image file separately when sharing a document.

Re: Can we record a video of a score during play?
Thanks. I did visit your pages and found them interesting. The consonance/dissonance score I think is hypnotic.
I was able to use my screen capture software, but I was hoping Finale had the feature. But I will try QuickTime to see if it is more friendly.

Can we record a video of a score during play?
I would like to record a video of a score, scrolling during playback. Does Finale have this capability, or must we use a screen capture app?
Re: Fermata
Is the fermata available in the default document, or in a document created with Setup Wizard? If so, your library file became corrupted. If you upload a page from the problematic document, I think I can fix the issue for you.

Any way to stabilize a rall. tempo alteration?
Almost always, a rall. or rit, will stop working for me in playback. I then select another shape or duplicate rit. and rename it as rall. or vice-versa. But this workaround also fails or does not work for very long. Clearing the MIDI data fails. I am convinced Finale hates editing as this issue rais...

Re: Can't figure out why the sound of the first note is cut off
Finale has a bug that randomly cancels playback of a note in a measure. I notice that the more I edit a document, the more unstable Finale becomes. I used to insert a new measure next to the problematic one then re-enter the notes and delete the bad measure. Now I do the following: Speedy Entry -> c...

Did you check the box "Fit to page" in the Print panel? Another option might be to use the free but excellent Foxit Phantom PDF Printer app.
Re: Fermata
If the symbol is available in another document, the library file in your doc may have become corrupted. Reloading the library file should make the symbol available again, but reloading duplicates all the items therein, bloating the document...unless you firstly delete all non-custom added items in A...

Never mind, I figured it out: in Articulation Designer, choose Playback Effect as "Change Duration" and set value of top note to 127% (the > %, the shorter the unwanted tacet).

Re: Harmonics for playback
The harmonics in Finale sound like harsh squeals. I used to create an expression with a patched sound, like vibraphone then hide the expression, after which I would add a hidden "suano ord." expression after the note(s) to restore playback of the original instrument. I now assign an instrument like ...

Re: How to define playback using rit. marking
From my personal manual...notes compiled from experience and different sources. *** In the example below, we will create the expression of "ritardando." where the tempo is to slow down for 3 beats. This tempo alteration mark will be saved for future use, which can be edited if so desired. 1. Window ...

Any way to remove a pause after a fermata?
In a string section, I have a short pause in playback after a fermata and would like to remove the silence if possible. I find no setting that will eliminate of truncate the pause in HP, Document Options or Preferences.

Playback of dynamics and hairpins lost
I often clear the MIDI data that usually resolves the myriad of problems I experience after editing a score. Does clearing the MIDI data disable playback of dynamics and hairpins? Is there a way to restore playback of crescendos, mf, pp, etc? I have tried switching genres in the HP settings, preferr...

Re: Default chord fonts
On a PC, one can open a word processor, like MS-Word and view the list of fonts installed in the OS, including those Finale uses. A less expedient way is to examine them in File Explorer, Windows' file manager. A Mac will have something similar. If a font has been corrupted or deleted, it can easily...

Has anyone found a solution to an instrument suddenly playing back flat? After editing some percussion, the cello began to play back about 1 semitone flat. I closed and reopened Finale but the problem persists.
