Re: Cut and past with automatic pitch change
Seems like the OP has been given the answer already but doesn't seem to realize it. Motet's reference to the 6-7-8-9 keys and N. Grossingink suggestion of using the Canonic Utilities plugin would accomplish what the OP is looking for. He could go back to that college course and turn a motif inside a...

Re: Finale 26.1 released
I doubt I will ever switch to Dorico, its interface is just far too alien to me (but as the saying goes, "never say never"). That little opinion stated... are there any compelling reasons to switch up to v26 of Finale? I've been mostly working in v25 and quite happy with its stability. However, bec...

Re: Keyboard Shortcut to Scroll Right/Left in Page View
The only time I use scroll view is when I'm initially entering notes. I use Speedy to enter notes. While in Speedy the active window is displayed on whatever measure I'm working on, then to advance to the next measure I press "]" (right bracket). Pressing "[" (left bracket) goes back a measure. Hope...

Re: Trombone "splat" sound notation
You could also use an alternate notehead with a splat instruction. This would visually distinguish it from other notes.

Re: Creating Books for Musical Theater...page numbers.
As Motet said near the top of this thread, make pdf's, combine the pdf's and let it add page numbers for you. You don't want to use Score merger for this.

Changing the default rest
I might be having a senior moment, but I'm trying to change the default rest from a whole rest to a different duration and not having much luck. Is this possible?

Re: Making a quality MIDI piano Mp3 in Finale
I'm not sure exactly what your question is. Yes, it's possible to take a midi piano and get a good recording. You get that by understanding the sound you're using and being familiar with it's controls. You also need to be well versed in Finale and/or Logic, understanding how to use those tools. In m...

Free samples
Here's a link to some free samples from Spitfire audio. One is a soft piano. (a strip of felt is placed between the hammers and strings) The other is a string section of 14 players recorded as an ensemble patch. These work through their own player and do not use Aria, but you can't beat the price. h...

Re: Remove Manual Adjustments
Octo,
I also use a Macbook Pro with the built in keyboard and have the same problem with no clear key. SF gave me a shortcut years ago which simply triggers the clear key, even though none physicially exists.

Re: changing chord suffix superscript to standard
The vertical placement control of a flat in a chord symbol is found in:
document options/chords/chord alteration baseline adjustment.
Change the number, press apply until you get what you want.

Re: changing chord suffix superscript to standard
In the chord suffix editor DBX, there's a choice for "H" (horizontal placement) and "V" (vertical placement). If you want your chord suffixes to have a standard look, make sure the "V" setting is "0" for each character in the suffix.

Re: Behavior of Rests in Speedy
As michelp posted earlier, pressing the * key pops toggles the rest between the normal position and the 2 layer position. There's no need to move it with the mouse.

Re: Music basics page
ebjazz,
From your description, these items all sound like font characters which are available in Finale. Just look up the keystroke commands for what characters you need. You should be able to create this document in Finale, a desktop publishing program, even a word document.
