Re: Condensed font in lyrics
Have a look at my Finale font name troubleshooting guide at the end of this article and/or read the full article. https://elbsound.studio/font-names-in-finale.php Maybe this helps? My guess: Add the english typeface to the font name and enter it into the font name field and select "Standard" in the ...

Re: Grace note question
I get the same behaviour as you describe. Could be a bug.
The only time I had a correct playback was when I attached the expression before the grace notes, like this: Jan

Re: tone clusters
I started a cluster plugin for JW Lua some time ago (for a project at that time), but as I never had cluster projects afterwards it somehow didn't really finish. The plugin can turn tone cluster into either SMuFL cluster notation or Maestro square noteheads (Engraver would be easily implemented as i...

Re: Esoteric question for powerusers only: time sig with 2 f
N Grossingink is right: Finale won't allow a time signature of 4/0. But it allows for example 4/1 or 4/2. So if you still follow the font way, it depends on how many different denominators you need. If your score has three different denominators (e.g. 2/2, 3/4 and 6/8) it won't work. If it only has ...

You probably didn't click on the AshMusic link (which actually doesn't exist as this font isn't sold anymore), but on the link for the "B" font Anastasia which is included in Encore. I have updated the script now, so that it is more clear that the link doesn't exist. Many fonts are not available ind...

Re: Finale 25, jazz fonts?
jzucker, there must be something wrong with your system. Even your Maestro font looks very grainy in your first image. Could it be that you have switched off the Windows font smoothing functions (although I don't know if they affect Finale) or that you're working at the wrong monitor resolution ? If...

UVI PlugsoundPro has finger snaps. It's a very versatile and inexpensive VST library that works fine in Finale. From time to time it's on sale for about $80. http://www.uvi.net/en/orchestral-compos ... d-pro.html

Re: Anybody know of a VST drum kit plugin for Finale?
I can simply select it in the Score Manager. Does it have to do with Fin2012? I don't know. I am using Fin2014/Windows. It doesn't have to do with the instrument name ("Blank Staff"). This is how it looks here (in any Finale document): scoremanager.jpg (Make sure the bank/channel setting matches you...

Re: Anybody know of a VST drum kit plugin for Finale?
In your example file you also need to switch to "VST Playback": it is currently set to MIDI playback. Check "MIDI/Audio->Play Finale through VST". When I changed that it, your file worked. Attention: when you change it, make sure the score manager settings are still correct (Finale sometimes updates...

I am also working on an automatic score balancing plugin. The VCR plugin is an option, but on the scores I tested it used to crash most of the time. Even very simply scores crashed (in 2014.5 and Fin25). Here are some results of the current version of my plugin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgYjN...

But you need to download the 32bit for everything until 2014.5, and 64bit for Fin25. A Linn drum VST is for example...

I second what Harpsi said, especially "lots of work".
AHK is very powerful, but I also find it rather difficult to develop with.
Here are some ideas how AutoHotKey can be used in Finale:

Design your own hairpin end symbol.
I used the same symbol in the music font comparison.
It looks pretty good in most cases though not in every one:

Arturo, you need to use a font that has the same baseline for the accent > as the Maestro notehead. If you use the Maestro accent, it won't work and result in the notehead a second too high. You could use for example all LilyPond fonts for the accent (Beethoven, Haydn, Cadence,...) - they will work ...
