Re: Key Signature Accidental Octave Placement
earcentred, If I understand you correctly, you need a key signature of 2 flats (= B♭ and E♭) - right? But you need the second flat (= E♭) moved an octave down - right? Take a look at the attached Finale document. KeySignature.musx Is this what you need ? By The Way: I can see that you are using v27....

… If there was a way to change the length of the secondary beams in method 2, that would probably be the way to go … Actually it is a document setting: Document Options - Beams In the lower pane there is a field where you can set the broken beam length. However, this setting affects all broken beam...

Re: Slash beams parallel to 8th note beam?
There is a way to do it, but it is rather time consuming: 1) Enter the repeated notes as they would sound i. e. repeated 16th's in Layer 1. Then, hide the second of each repeated note. 2) Do exactly the same thing in Layer 2. 3) Flip the stem directions in the layers so that the aligned note's stem ...

Re: I don't understand this Part. 2
1) If you - before opening the plug-in - (drag-)select the partial measure (like e. g. only the last eighth), then the plug-in will put the correct number in there for you. 2) Whether you choose the dash barline or the invisible barline, does not really matter. Afterwards you will change that barlin...

… In measure 58 there should only be 1 note. No rest. the timing is 6/8. And in measure 57 there should only be the notes. No 8th rest - right? Re: how to count
The 6 “quarters” are actually sextuplet sixteenths, filling the last beat of a (slow) 4/4 measure (= the last beat of the half note in the Bass). My guess is that the 6 “quarters” notation indicates a calm, in free tempo, arpeggio effect (a “pyramid” chord). “Pyramid” chords are not uncommon in orga...

finalizer,
There are two sets of Finale folder hierarchies, with the same folder names.
One resides in the Library folder at System Level (root level), the other resides in your user account.
Yes, I know.
It can be confusing that you can find similarly named folders in two different places.

I honestly do not recall, what features were available in Finale 2003. The Plug-ins menu should have an icon to the right of the Tools menu. Perhaps the Tenor Sax player wants to practise reading in Bass C...
