Right. Most people use inches, which is what I included the e in the example.

Re: Creating Custom Time Signatures

They are measuring the distance from their normal placement. Add a zero to the bottom displacement (10000e)--what I specified was not big enough and you're likely seeing numbers from staves further down. My apologies. If that doesn't fix it, post your file here (it can just be the first number, say...

Re: Violin Fam - Open string indication

I have the fingerings, which is why I suggested the OP duplicate one of them. As Michel says, the circle would be mistaken for a harmonic. The numeral zero is what's usually used, which would have to be added. Here's my Maestro set, which seems different from the above. Awesome, that's what I suspe...

Violin Fam - Open string indication

Hi Forum,

Happy Holidays!

Could someone quickly point me to the best way how to write the '0' for the open-string-indications?

Thanks

Re: Perfect Layout - Tremolo Adjustments

The slashes are really shorthand for beams, and some editions even use one or two for measured notes. So a triple-slashed eighth note is a 64th note, whereas triple-slashed quarters, halves, and whole notes are only 32nd notes. For tremolos, you pick something that's too fast to play measured, whic...

Re: Perfect Layout - Tremolo Adjustments

Pl is not going to fix things that are not a normal practice. I agree that the eighth note should only have two slashes instead of three. But the amount of adjustments and options in PL is daunting to say the least. Yep, that was a misunderstanding on my part. The years I put three slashes on all n...

Again, I would only put two slashed on an eighth note. The eighth note stem is an octave long, which is normal.

If you insist, though, try running JW Yaddeh Yaddeh Tremolo after running PL.
Perfect. Thank you for your answer.

Re: Perfect Layout - Tremolo Adjustments

Looks OK to me except for the flagged eighth note. That probably should have two slashes instead of three anyway (flags and beams generally deduct from the number of slashes needed). Or are you complaining about the color? Hi Motet, Yes, it's about the eight note. PL shortened the stem so that the ...

Perfect Layout - Tremolo Adjustments

Hi Forum, I've started using Jan's PL and so far it's been a pretty big timesaver. One question that I can't find the adjustment for: In the attached pic, you can see that PL changes my tremolo's in a not-so-sightly way. I think it comes from the stem adjustments for 8th, 16th, etc. notes. Maybe Jan...

Lyrics: 'phrase-end dash' over double barline

Hi forum,

A small question of asthetics:

With lyrics, Finale doesn't extend the 'phrase-end dash' (what's the terminology for this, actually?) over a double barline (see pics).

Is there a way to manually extend it?

Thanks.

Hi forum,

Is there a feature that allows me to swap (filtered?) content of two staves quickly? Like a window that lets me select two staves and then exchange the content?

Thanks

I'm experiencing an ugly bug when glissandi are between two pages (see pic.)

They show in Finale and in the pdf.

Any suggestions?

It is difficult to discuss the problem without seeing an actual Finale document.

I suggest that you attach a (small) Finale sample document here, for the gurus to examine.

Hi forum, Could someone give me a hand. I'm trying to get a 1/2 Trill articulation but the Articulation Designer is giving me a really hard time. Re: Anyone using noteperformer ?

Hmm. As an estimated guess, I think you might not get it to work. Since you configured the '2nd time only' and it works without NP, but with NP, it screwed up your playback. There doesn't seem to be any fitting expression configured in NPs HP prefs, either. ( https://www.noteperformer.com/media/Note...

My problem now is to manage to have a 2ne time only expression working with NotePerformer.
Anyone know how to do that ?
Just to be on the same page: with "2nd time only" you refer to "this line should be played only the second time these measures are played" correct?

Best,

It’s not a bug on Macs. I guarantee.

Try restarting your computer. If that doesn’t fix it, trash the prefs.

If you work with hidden staffs or staff sets, try unhiding all.

But yes, Zuill is right. It helps to upload the file.
