The Technical Issues category is gone. Wonderful!

Perhaps Playback and Hardware should also amalgamate? That would leave three categories: Beginners, Notation, Hardware and Playback.

John,

:D I hope you take this in the humorous manner in which it was intended. :D

Perhaps you should remove one of your duplicate postings. They are 15 minutes apart time wise.

But seriously, there should be a category for scripting. Finalescript as well as JW Lua script could be combined into a category.

John,

I removed the duplicate post.

I wouldn't combine the categories. Playback woes are not the same as issues with keyboards, monitors, etc. (Just my opinion!)

Thanks for removing the duplicate, Mike.

If you think there should be the two distinct categories for playback and hardware, then I am sure that you are right. I agree about the scripting, even though I don't know a thing about that! :D I also like the fact that Mac and Windows sides are together.

For me, since I come in via "View unread posts," which doesn't know from categories, it's irrelevant.

I apologize for the late response. Just saw this comment. I agree that there should be a Finalescript category. Even though in the other Finale forum the Finalescript section wasn't popular, I, for one, learned a lot there, and contributors provided workable solutions to my Finalescript problems. In addition, MakeMusic has long abandoned supporting Finalescript. I believe that is yet another big mistake--Finalescript could be so powerful if it worked correctly and if it were supported!

May I suggest a separate thread for printing issues?

They seems to be endemic, complex, and hard to correct.

After all is said and done, the primary purpose of Finale is to produce printed sheets that people can play from.

(The secondary purpose is to create audio files, but that seems to be relatively trouble-free.
Third is, of course the display of music on the computer monitor.)

Did I miss anything?)
Honk if you love peace and quiet.
