I want to show two whole notes in one measure - same note - side by side. Example - both tenor and lead sing high C - I want to show two whole notes - high C. Can't figure it out but I know it can be done as I have seen an arrangement with this in.

In Speedy Entry, enter two separate pitches and then drag the ‘wrong’ note up or down to the correct pitch. They ought then to show side by side. I expect there's an equivalent in Simple Entry.

BTW I don't think this thread is in the right section of the forum. It probably ought to have been in the ‘General’ section.

Welcome to the forum!

According to your profile you are using SongWriter.
Does SongWriter have the Speedy Entry Tool?
Or has SongWriter only the Simple Entry Tool?

Anyway, the solution is as David Ward explains.
The trick can also be done in the Simple Entry Tool:

Enter a two-note chord with both notes in the same layer (= sharing the same, invisible “whole note stem”).

To select, CTRL-click.

To move the selection up/down between the notes, use CTRL-⇡ and CTRL-⇣.

To move a selected note up/down, use the Arrow keys without modifier key.
You can also drag a selected note up/down.
