I am having trouble with the "Fit Measures" tool.
I want to fit 8 measures onto a system, but it will only let me fit 2 of the 8.
I imported the score from a PDF via xml

I have tried to "unlock the system" but that won't work.

Help?!?!?
This request is time sensitive.

I am using Mac ver. 26.2

The fit measure tool unlocks and relocks the systems, so that should do it. If this was imported from a scan, you might have something else locking things. Maybe a page break is involved. If we could see the Finale file, we might be able to help troubleshoot.

Indeed the culprit could be a so called Page Break which forces a system to begin a new page.
This will show as a small “page icon” at the beginning of the system.

To remove a Page Break, switch to the Page Layout Tool.
Click on the system with the Page Break, to select the system.
Page Layout menu > Delete Page Break

Another possible culprit is the similar feature (call it a System Break?) that forces a measure to begin a new system.
This will show as a small “Return key icon” at the beginning of the measure.

To remove a “System Break”, switch to the Measure Tool.
Double-click on the measure with the “Return key icon”, to open the Measure Attributes.
De-select the option
