Anybody else having the problem with the tuplet tool where it can't put in the last eight note of an eighth note triplet in the space of two? on beat 4, it only wants to let you put in two eighth notes and the last must be a sixteenth or smaller....

Welcome to the forum!

1) Your problem is well known:
The general problem occurs whenever you try to end a measure with a tuplet (any tuplet).

Fortunately the fix is simple.
There are many ways to enter tuplets in Finale:
- Speedy Entry Tool or Simple Entry Tool
- with MIDI keyboard or computer keyboard or mouse.

In most of these entry methods you can create an "end-of-measure tuplet" without problems.
- Try e. g. the Speedy Entry Tool.
- Or study the Simple Entry tutorial document "EntryExercise".
- Also, take a look at Mike Rosen's web page with Finale tips:
www.specialmillwork.com/finaletips.htm
The first mini-tutorial explains how to create tuplets with the Simple Entry Tool.

2) If you refuse to learn any new entry methods, and insist on creating tuplets in the way you are used to, just de-select "Check for Extra Notes".
