I copied and pasted an existing composition into a new score, and the sound of the cellos changed: instead of the full, symphonic sound I had in the first score, now they sound like more like chamber music.

What caused this, and how can I change it back?

If anyone else encounters this problem, I figured out what was causing it: the instruments were set to "String Ensemble" in the Instrument List. This creates a "symphonic" sound, rather than an individual cello sound.
