Percussion Question

How to get Hand Claps to sound on Finale Allegro?
This program is driving me insane at the moment. I have the harp and piano components already arranged for a song, but I am at a loss as to how to put the hand claps in. I have already created a clap/percussive staff. When I attempt to put a clap onto the staff it looks like any regular note and sounds like a piano. I am sure there is something I have missed, but I need help.
After reading the manual as well as the tutorials I am still confused. The tutorial mentioned that I should open an instrument list, but I don't even know how to find it...
Can someone please offer some sound advice?
