I've made an orchestration. But upon playback, the bassoon part in Measure 9 sounds like it's playing the wrong notes. In fact, it sounds like a french horn reading the part and using its own staff and key signature. I've checked to make sure those two instruments are on different channels. I've even tried altering the channel assignments so that the two are separated by at least 10 or so. Same result. About the only thing I did out of the ordinary was to add Bells as a new instrument later on, but I assigned it a new channel number and it plays fine. The bassoon part doesn't want to behave.

The bassoon part sounds fine to me when I open your document in Finale 2011.
An idea:
Go to the Staff Attributes for the bassoon staff, and give it a staff transpositon.
Then remove the transposition again, not by undoing, but by de-selecting.
Does that help?

I kind of solved the problem myself by doing three things: (1) I cut the bassoon part out. (2) I pasted it into the contrabass staff where I played it and it sounded OK; (3) I then cut it from the contrabass part and replaced it into the bassoon staff. After a re-start of Finale PrintMusic it sounded OK.
However, I appreciate your efforts at what you did, and I have made a note of your solution. I will consider this solution for future problems of a similar nature. They seem to be frequent and many!
Thanks again!
