Hello all,
Well, this was weird! I was entering notes into PM 2011 and suddenly I realized that some of the sections were in layer 2 (I guess it's called...when you want a second voice). I hadn't switched to layer 2, however, and even when cutting that section out, going to layer 1 and pasting it there, it still puts itself in layer 2.
Any ideas what's going on here?
Thanks,
Starkman

1) There are keyboard shortcuts for switching between the layers.
You might have hit a keyboard shortcut.
2) When you copy/paste music, layer info is included in the music.
In Other Words:
If you copy Layer 2 music, and paste it elsewhere, it will be pasted as Layer 2 music.
You can, however, move/copy music to another layer, but that is a separate operation.
And I do not know whether PrintMusic can do it.
In the "full Finale" the command is located in the Edit menu:
Move/Copy Layers

Well, thanks all. Indeed, I found the Edit > Move/Copy Layer command. Whew!
Now I gotta find out what I pressed in what combinination with what hand to cause that miscreant section of obstreperous notes to have found their way into layer 2!
Thanks again, all,
Starkman

I believe I clicked (or double-clicked) on a section of layer 2 while working in layer 1, and that put me into Layer 2. I just discovered that this is how you can switch quickly between layers, which I do NOT like; I'd rather have to press the layer 2 button at the lower left corner or do a key combination of some sort.
At any rate, I'm sure now that that's what happened.
Thanks,
Starkman
