Hello, i'm working on making a score of music for a friend and was wondering how to edit a single instrument of the score - when I try to edit a single instrument it edits the whole score.

Help much appreciated!

That certainly shouldn't happen!

Can you post a portion of the score? To post a .mus file here, it must be compressed (zipped) and cannot exceed 100 kb in size. Also, please tell us exactly what you want to do, what you are doing, and what happens when you do it.

Hey thanks for the response miker!

I should have been a little more exact with my question - I can edit single instruments (notes) but can't add multi-measure rests to one instrument. When I try to add a multi-measure rest it adds it to each individual part of the score - i.e. I want 4 measures of stacked rests for one instrument but it add's the 4 measures to all the instruments.

Hope this is a little more to go off (will try to get part of the score up sometime today).

I'm a little unclear...

First question: Are you using PrintMusic? (That's the forum you've posted in.) Please add the program and version you are using to your signature, in the user control panel.

Second: Are you trying to add the MM rest to an individual part in the score, or to an extracted single part? You can't use MM rests in a score, because the barlines have to align with all the parts.

Yes, I am trying to add MM rests to a "single" instrument in the full score. Should I try using MM rests in an extracted part? Will that solve the problem of having MM rests align with the whole score?

Yes. MM rests are only for parts.
