PrintMusic 2014 for Windows provided importing TIFF or scanning and saving as TIFF to import. Not very effective so I purchased SmartScore Songbook to partner with Print Music. Now when I try to import a TIFF file to PrintMusic, SmartScore opens automatically and "takes over". Even the icon to transfer from SmartScore to PrintMusic remains diminished and non functional.
I find PrintMusic tedious but very functional. Is there a way to disconnect the automatic reconnect to SmartScore?
For clarification, the scanning in SmartScore is much better than the fundamental scanning included in PrintMusic.

Welcome to the forum.
I don't know if you can disconnect the two, unless you uninstall SmartScore.
But if you don't mind my asking, why would you want to? As you've found, SS is much better at interpreting the scans than the lite version that comes with PrinMusic.
If you have a larger score than the Songbook version can handle, you might want to consider upgrading. I have the Pro version, and find it very useful.
