Hi,
How do I "offset" repeat symbols? I.,e., I want the instruments (piano +flute) to do a lengthy intro and on the second repeat for the voices to begin, but once I set the "start repeat" symbol for the instrument PrintMusic Funale 2010 (Windows7) places the symbol in the first voice stave as well.
Thanks for your consideration,
Greg

It is not clear to me what symbol you are talking about.Valdavidian wrote:… but once I set the "start repeat" symbol for the instrument …
Do you mean Forward Repeat Bar (example A)?
There is no need to place a Forward Repeat Bar at the beginning of the very first measure in the document.
Do you mean Backward Repeat Bar (example B)?
Or something completely different?

If I understand you correctly, I don't think you can do that in PM.
In the full Finale, I would enter a text comment of "Tacet until repeat" or something like that. Then, I would create two expressions: one to turn playback off on the first pass, and one to turn it back on, on the second. That second expression would be hidden.
However, the workaround in PM would be to create two documents: One for printing, with the note, and one for playback, with the piece written out completely. (This is not an uncommon workaround!)
