I got a Mac yesterday and installed Finale PrintMusic 2011 on it - it had been installed on a previous computer, but I did deauthorize it and delete the program.
It's showing up and I can open it. When I try to use the setup wizard to make a big band chart, it will open the chart for a second after I click finish, flash twice, and then crash. The error message I get is from the Mac, not PrintMusic ("Finale PrintMusic 2011 quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically).
The really weird thing is that I can get to open when I'm only writing a lead sheet! I can get the chart to show, I can input notes and use all regular functions, but when I try to add staves to build an instrumentation myself I get an error message from Finale that says "Unhandled Exception Caught", and then it crashes.
I've tried trashing my preferences and downloading the PrintMusic 2011 Mac update. Still no luck. What can I try?
Thank you all very much!

I'm afraid that you will need to upgrade. A product from 2011 is not supported on the new OS.
