Edit Ensembles and Instrument List

I am using Finale PrintMusic 2014.5 on Mac. I would like to save a custom ensemble. I have found the ensembles.txt, but instruments are listed by InstIDs, and I do not know where to find a list of these IDs and what they correspond to. I have not been able to find the instrument.txt to define custom instruments. Can anyone help on this issue?

Welcome to the forum.
I'm a little unclear about what you want. Once you have created a custom ensemble with the Setup Wizard, you can simply save that group as a template, and it will be there whenever you want it. There should be no need to go into the ensembles.txt files.
If I misunderstand, maybe you could give us a few more details.
