Select Note (Posted in Notepad Forum by mistake)

Suppose I have two notes on the same beat in a vocal or piano arrangement. I realize one note has to be changed. The selection tool selects both notes. I cannot find a way to select just one of the notes.

The same problem occurs with the eraser tool.

Advice?

Select the chord. (I think) Ctrl-Up or Down arrow should move you to the single note.

Thanks again for trying to help. CTRL+(arrow) doesn't do anything, and neither does an arrow key alone.

Perhaps a Windows/Mac difference. I believe this is all covered in the manual. Probably a good idea to at least the Simple Entry section and familiarize yourself with all of the features.

Thanks, I check the manual before posting questions. Take care.

From the PM2014 manual:

Use the Simple Entry tool, not the Selection tool. Ctrl-click carefully on the notehead you want to change. Use the arrow keys to move it up or down.

That's the unspoken trick! I double click on the chord, which automatically puts me in the Simple Entry tool. Then the arrows work as they should (with the modifier key, of course.)
