Remove Certain Template Text

Sometimes it is more convenient to modify an existing template than to create a new one; but I can't figure out how to do two things:

1-Remove the staff names (e.g., Bass, Soprano)
2-Remove the word "Intro" which is overlaying the tempo marking. I don't need the section named.

Thanks.

1. Remove the staff names in the Score Manager. (Ctrl-K)

2. Select the text, and delete it.

Do these in the Template, and they will be gone forever.

Thanks. I am not so much looking to modify the template as to make changes in a score I created using one of the templates. The word "Intro" placed by the template and the staff names are impervious to the text tool. Ctrl+K does not seem to do anything.

I appreciate the response, though.

PS The help says to click the staff tool and a staff menu will appear. I do not see a staff menu when I click the staff tool I am missing something here.

I suppose you could call it “sloppy wording”.

You are right that the Staff menu does not appear when you switch to the Staff Tool.

What appears, is the menu title ‘Staff’.

The Staff menu does not drop down until you click on the menu title ‘Staff’.

Thank you. Got rid of the staff names, so that's great.

Still can't get rid of the word Intro that was added automatically and which is in the way of the tempo marking.

Appreciate the help.

I misled you on Intro, sorry.

Words like that are expressions, not text. If you click on the Expression tool, does a handle appear next to the word, allowing you to select and deleted it?

I can't imagine where "Intro" is coming from.
