I am using Finale Print Music. Anything in Print Music that came out of notepad has a variety of drop down boxes with lots of playback options and it comes from Smart Music Soft Synth one - make music GM Bank 0 - 1 - 128.

Anything that is new I have written in Print Music exclusively just states soft synth and has no drop down choices and no gm banks for a variety of playback sounds.

AM I missing something. There must be more playback options in Print Music . Where are they?

FINALLY if I write an Overture can I change instruments in the middle of the score. If so HOW!

What version of PrintMusic?

Can you post a screenshot of where you are looking for the other banks?

Do you have Play through MIDI selected in the MIDI menu?

You solved the problem. Play though Midi had all the banks. I have Print Music 2014. Thank you very much.

Onto the second question. Can you Change instruments in the middle of a score. I write musicals and I have a Overture to do.

You could change instruments by using different layers, or set up the score for all the instruments you need, and hide the staves when inactive.

If you could be more descriptive, we might have better suggestions.

Go to the Upgrade from Print Music tab. When you get the opportunity (I'm not sure where in the process it is) enter the code TRADEUP99. The discounted price will show in the final tally.

Before you upgrade, make sure you read the requirements. Finale now requires 64 bit. If your system is not 64 bit, Finale v25 won't work.
