I have a composition with an eighth-note rest in layer 2 that I cannot get rid of. It will not erase. I have deleted the entire measure, but it shows back up.

It may actually belong to the measure before. If you can attach the file, we might be able to troubleshoot the problem.

I'm not sure how to attach a piece of music, but I'll try. The problem is in measure 14, first beat, layer 2, the eighth rest.

The extra rest is actually in layer 3. Go to Layer 3 and then you can delete that extra rest.

P.S.: After further investigation, there was more to it than just the Layer 3 rests. Here's the revised file.

P.P.S.: The attached picture shows what's wrong. In the system above, there is a hidden rest (appears to belong to measure 10). That belongs to the Bass Staff of measure 14. The rest in the Bass Staff of Measure 14 belongs to the Treble Staff. The Rest in Layer 3 doesn't belong at all. After the Layer 2 rests get moved back to their proper place, the Treble Staff rest should be hidden, and the Bass Staff Rest should be un-hidden. I'm not sure what the purpose of the Treble Staff hidden rests in Layer 2 are for. They don't seem necessary.
