adding a new staff to an existing system

Post by Tjmusic1 » Thu Nov 08, 2018 2:43 am

i'm looking to add a contrabass part to just a portion of my score at the end of the piece. (further, i am not sure of the difference between a system and a group.) any thoughts?

I know you're using PrintMusic, but I believe it might work the same as Finale. You add the staff for the whole document, then hide it in the systems where it is not needed.

A system is a bunch of staves, for example, Trumpet, Trombone, Violin.

A group is a subdivision of a system. You might have the Trumpet and Trombone bracketed as a group, while the Violin is separate from them, but still, within the system.
