I guess this is specifically about the suffixes.

Does anyone else think that the Chord Symbols just look ugly? There's strange spacing between the root and suffix and then the root and suffix are not vertically aligned.

I've played with the default Chord fonts to try to fix the problem to no avail.

I understand that there are some more options to change chord suffixes in Allegro and the full version of Finale. Is this a limitation of PrintMusic?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, this is a limitation of PrintMusic.

PrintMusic can open a document with less ugly chord symbols, but it can't create them itself.

Both the full Finale and Allegro have the option of creating custom chord symbols.

If you find a Finale .MUS document with chord symbols you like, you can use that document as a template for your own documents.
