I'm thinking about using Print Music to notate my musical ideas using the micnotater with vocals. Has anyone out there tried this? And how well does it work? If it does work can you make appropriate corrections?

It won't. End of story. The voice just isn't accurate enough.
Sorry!

Input your notes with Simple or Speedy entry. I prefer simple, but many people like Speedy because, if you have a MIDI keyboard, you can "doodle" until you find the notes you want, and then enter them.

So, it's not the "End of Story!" It will work. I'm looking for something as a sketch pad not a finished product. Your thoughts?

Then you've changed what you asked for! PM will not (nor will any other product) let you sing into a mic, and notate it. If you just need the musical scratch pad (and you know enough about music to know what you are writing!) then PrintMusic, with either entry method, will do fine. Think of it as an advanced paper and pencil.

I would stay away from NotePad or Songwriter; they are both pretty limited once you go beyond the bare minimum.

Hey Miker,
You obviously do not know what you're talking about because the technical support people at Finale said it will work. For your information there are several pieces of software that do exactly what we are talking about and if you read the original question you'll see that it was correct. Also if you spent as much time working on your music instead of trying to answer every question on the Finale forum you would be a musical genius, now get to work!
