Printmusic on Mac
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
I have an iMac and have downloaded a demo version of Printmusic. When entering notes on a manuscript they are all showing as weird slash-type notation. I have tried to follow directions to create normal musical notation but cannot. The right boxes are checked in the notation style - normal - yet I am still getting this notation. I then downloaded another demo but this time in the Windows 7 running on my Mac; and there is no problem at all -perfect normal notation.
But I'd still prefer to run Printmusic on my Mac; but I can't cope with this bizarre notation.
Anyone help?
Regards.
Andrew

Hope this works: this is little something I composed earlier...I hope you see what I mean

Re-install your Finale fonts on the Mac. (By the way, the 1st file doesn't have abnormal symbols for me, which confirms the fonts problem).
PS : some users also had similar problems because of fonts duplicates.

You have to reinstall them from the installation CD. Usually you have the option to make a "custom" installation of some selected elements.

Michel,
He's working from a download. No CD.
To the OP: I would use a font utility to make sure you have no duplicate fonts. (I can't tell you how. I don't use a Mac.)

Thanks miker.
Maybe he can make a complete reinstallation first from his installer, which he hopefully has kept or which he can find on the Finale website.
If the problem persists, duplicates could the be the problem. In MacOsX, you can see your fonts in the application Font book.
Or you can directly go to the folders where they are stored.
Read more about fonts and their location on the Apple website : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1642
