I'm trying use Finale PrintMusic 2010 to notate a song with multiple verses, entered as a repeat with two sets of lyrics. Where the first verse has a whole one-syllable word, the second verse has a two-syllable word. So, for example, the note for the one-syllable word in the first verse is a quarter note, but I want to show two eighth notes for the two-syllable word in the second verse.
I thought about using layers, but I don't want the eighth notes to playback at the same time as the quarter note.
Even aside from the playback issue, would an approach using layers work?
Anyone have any ideas about how to do this?

Aside from the playback issue, layers are fine. And you can get around that by having a second file for playback with the repeat written out.
The "two-file" method is a common workaround for PrintMusic.
