I wish to add fingerings to some cello music but I cannot find the "thumb" sign. It's a circle with a short vertical line descending from it (like a lollipop). It's not in Maestro.

And what a shame you can't change clef in the middle of a measure !!!! This is a basic necessity for cello music and as such could be included in PrintMusic without having to buy the full Finale just to write out simple one- voice cello music.

Many thanks

You can find it in the EngraverFontSet, character ALT+0169.

Everybody has their own opinion of what is "basic" and should be included in PrintMusic. If all of them were there, it would be Finale!

I just noticed that you are in France. Are you using a French keyboard setup? If so, you will have to go through the Text>Inset>Symbol method to find the character.

found it as you said, with text - font - insert - symbol, but it's tiny and won´t amplify no matter how big I put the font size !!

Resizing works for me. But I have to go up to a 36 point before I see much of a change. Try enlarging the font size, BEFORE you go to the Insert>Symbol. Are the symbols larger when you view them? Or, after the symbol is in your doc, can you select it and change the font then?
