Instrument Titles

See the attachment; I don't know what you "call" this, so I can't do an effective job at "searching".

So by the attachment, you see on the "Conductor Score" that the Instrument names are WAAAAY toooo short. This also happens to the individual sheets after "Extracting Files". Normally, I've been living with this for approx 9 mos, but today, I made a major mistake in distributing sheets in church this morning...... My fault, but that's why I wanna fix/learn it.

OK, what DO you call this title area, and then, HOW do I FORCE it to print the whole title, three places;

1. on my computer while in Scroll Mode; it only shows a short piece, so I always have to go to Staff, and pull the handles SEVERAL times during any arrangements; as it alwasy "shrinks awasy" when I start entering notes.

2. So I can see the whole title on the Conductor Score, and MOST OF ALL:

3. So the title prints onto the "Extracted Parts" so that " et Bb1" does not get mixed up with " et Bb1"..... see, one is intended to be Trumpet and the other is Clarinet; both ending with "et" and Bb, ha.

I want to force it out so that it prints on THEIR sheets.

Larry,
Go to Page Layout. You can drag the left margin of the system to the right, to give yourself more room. If you want to adjust it numerically, Page Layout>Edit System Margins.

Aaaaaaah, thanks miker. So easy after one knows the answer, ha.... so my "unclear label" experiece shall never be repeated again, ha.

Now if I can just solve the "nuisance" "mostly hidden label" thing while I'm in scroll view, I'd be really happy.

Again, thanks to all those people who have helped me THOROUGHLY ENJOY this Finale [PrintMusic2010] Program.

I don't think I "deserve" this much fun, but I'll continue to enjoy it. Now if I had the WHOLE THING [REAL Finale] I'd be elated; well, I'm ALMOST elated now.

I don't think you can avoid it in Scroll View. I can't find a way, even in the full Finale.

Right click on the space outside the system and drag to the right. You can drag in all directions to put it exactly where you want it. You can even drag many measures to the right or left.

I know it is mentioned in the Finale videos, not sure about PrintMusic documentation.

I just got a reply from Tech Support. The Hand Grabber tool will also do it.

The hand grabber tool is usually an extra step. You can right-click and drag from most, if not all, tools that you are already using.
