I'd like to undertie 2 syllables en m. 2 : "na" & "y"
I'm doing:
Text menu/Insert symbol/275
but the result is not an undertie, but an under hyphen
I appreciate your answers

I am not sure I understand.
You can tie two notes, but in this case there is only one note.
To attach the two syllables ‘na’ and ‘y’ to the same note, separate them by a non-breaking space character - instead of separating them by the normal, breaking, space character.
Windows text fonts have a “non-breaking space” in character slot #160.
Mac text fonts have a “non-breaking space” in character slot #202.

Elision, not liaison!
It’s a new character in F27. I don’t think it was in jo’s F25.
It can be entered as a font character. Type an upper case I (that's an I like in Input) where you want it, between the letters in the lyric. Then, select the I, and go to the text menu. (Yes, the Text menu will show, even though you are in the Lyrics tool.) Click on Character Settings... In the next window, choose Engraver Font Set. The I should change to an elision/undertie.

Thank you very much, miker,
I see the undertie on your file, but I don't get the route to import that symbol on my file.
Could you explain further, please?

Under that C, enter the lyric as naIc (that's an upper case I, as in the word Insert.
Select just that I. You can do it in either the score, or the Lyrics window.
Don't change tools. In the text menu at the top, choose Font Settings...
In the next font Window, choose Engraver Font Set, and click OK.

Thank you very much indeed, miker,
I've got it.
The the route is:
1) Write "I" in the space between the 2 letters to undertie
2) Select "I" (in either the score, or the Lyrics window)
3) Text menu/Font/Engraver Font Set/Click

Hello, everyone. Did you face this situation where you did all this workaround quite successfully and then, having copied and pasted that very edited text in some other place of the score, Finale shows again the two words with the "I" in between?
Thanks you very much!
Here a screen cap of the phenomenon:

PS: By the way, this is my first post!

Well, it is actually, and as a result of the procedure mentioned before, two fonts, the words are Finale Lyrics Font and the "undertie" is Engraver Font Set.
But yes, I am pasting in the same score the same combination of fonts. Which makes me wonder if Finale could keep two different fonts in a copied text?

I'm not much of a lyrics user though I have used it some. It seems kind of ancient and flakey. Look in the lyrics window and see if you find your undertied lyrics there. You may have to click-assign them again.
Thank you. I know how to "re-replace" the capital "I" with the undertie one way or the other, I was just wondering if there was a way to not have to do everything again manually.
I wonder why Finale is still in that ancient era regarding lyrics.
