Specify volume in mixer
Moderators: Peter Thomsen, miker
Songwriter 2012 Windows. When using the mixer dialog, I know how to adjust the volume using the sliders. But I'd like to set the volume numerically rather than adjust the slider and hope it lands on the correct volume without needing readjustment. Is this possible? Maybe not in mixer; what about one of the fields in Score Manager? Thanks.

I don't know SongWriter.
If the Score Manager in SongWriter is like the Score Manager in the "full Finale", then it has two chiclets:
File Info and Instrument List.
You can customize the view in the Instrument List so that it only displays the parameters you want to see.
In this case you want the Instrument List to show the item "Mix".

Peter,
SongWriter doesn't have the volume or pan options in the Instrument list.
To the original poster,
No, there doesn't seem to be anyplace in SW (Windows) to numerically make that change. In the Mac version, when you move the sliders in the Mixer, there is a window that shows the number as you slide. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case in Windows. Sorry.

Thanks guys. It turns out Peter hit the nail on the head - Songwriter 2012 does indeed have the "mix" function in Score Manager. You have to use the Customize View button and choose "mix". Then the "V" (volume) field appears on the instrument list, allowing input of numerical volume settings. It translates to the Mixer dialog box.
This may not have been possible in earlier versions of Songwriter, which evidently didn't have as in-depth a Score Manager.
