Rest conversion

Hi !
I'd like to insert an eight rest in place of the pink eight :

Can I convert it ? Or how to insert a rest in a measure ?

If the note is already there, select it, and hitting the R key will change it to a rest (or vice-versa.)
If you are entering the notes, then it would depend on how you are doing it. I use simple entry, selecting the durations with the numberpad, and entering A-G on the computer keyboard. With this method, to enter a rest, I select the duration, and hit the numpad 0. No need to switch tools or anything else.
