I have a score in TTBB format that I've imported into Songwriter 2012 (on Windows 7) via a MusicXML file.

I would like to reformat this as a Male Barbershop template - or copy and paste the 4 different parts into 4 layers on a barbershop template.
When I try pasting the second part into layer 2, layer 1 disappears.

Am I attempting the impossible?
Any advice much appreciated.

No problem. I'll assume that you have the tenor and bari in layer one, and lead and bass in layer two. If you don't, make it so!

Open the BBS template. Make sure you are in layer one, and copy in the tenor and bari lines. Go to the Document menu, and check Show Active Layer Only.

Switch to layer two. The existing notes will vanish.

Copy the lead and bass lines into the template.

Go back to the Document menu, and uncheck Show Active Layer Only.

Done.

Thanks Miker. I think I've got the hang of it now. Very helpful as always.
