Hello:

Is there any way to write in "free time" in Finale Songwriter 2010? If not can someone eplain to me how to hide bar lines and time signatures? I have tried looking through help and couldn't find a satisfactory answer. Thank you!

SongWriter can't set up a such document, sorry.

You need at least Allegro to get the ability of hiding barlines and frequently changing time signatures.

I don't know SongWriter.
Does SongWriter come with a folder of templates?
If it does, then take a look at the SongWriter templates.
Some of the templates might be useful as a "workaround", e. g. if there's a "Blank Manuscript" template.

You could insert text blocks with music symbols (clefs, whole notes, half notes &c.) as graphical elements in a "Blank Manuscript" document.
It will be time consuming, but at least it's doable.

I think you will need to go to the full Finale. PrintMusic can't do it, and I would stay away from Allegro. It's still in v.2007, and they have given no indications that it will be updated.

Thanks you both so much for your prompt replies- I will try your suggestion of looking for templates in Songwriter- haven't looked at it enough yet to know everything that it has. Thank you!
