Hello,
I got a new computer and I have to transfer finale to the new computer since the old computer is being cleaned and returned.
The old computer is an Intel Macbook pro and the new computer is an M1 MacBook Pro.

Can I just migrate the finale app from the old computer to the new one using migration assistant or do I have to download an M1 specific version? Do I have to buy a new license?

Is anyone here using Finale on M1 computers?

Thanks,
Teresa

I have found that you need to run the Finale installer again, as Migration Assistant doesn't quite copy everything over.

You can get that from the Finale website, under "My Account".

There's no separate versions: just the one for Mac.

As for licensing: Finale lets you install Finale on two computers. You can Deauthorise your old laptop, thus freeing up the 'seat', or you can also do this from the Finale website, too, I think.

I found the information at MakeMusic site. It was very easy. Deauthorize in one computer and authorize in the other. It seems to be running fine on the M1. At least with my beginner level of use.

I think you can having it authorized on three computers at once, something like that.
